Privacy Policy for SeraphIRC
Effective Date: Monday July 6, 2026
SeraphIRC is an IRC client. This Privacy Policy explains how SeraphIRC handles information when you use the app.
Information We Collect
SeraphIRC does not collect personal information that identifies you as an individual.
SeraphIRC may collect a limited aggregate usage count to estimate monthly active users. This count is used only to understand general app usage and is not linked to your name, email address, Apple ID, IRC nickname, IRC account, device identity, advertising identifier, messages, channels, servers, or chat history.
SeraphIRC does not sell, rent, or share personal information. The app does not include advertising or third-party tracking.
Information Stored on Your Device
SeraphIRC may store app settings, IRC connection details, server addresses, nicknames, channel lists, preferences, and related configuration data on your device so the app can function.
Depending on how you configure the app, SeraphIRC may also store chat history, message history, or connection logs locally on your device. This information remains on your device unless you choose to export, delete, sync, back up, or otherwise share it using your device or another service.
IRC Servers and Third-Party Networks
SeraphIRC connects to IRC servers and networks that you choose. When you connect to an IRC server, that server or network may receive information such as your IP address, nickname, username, real name field, channels joined, messages sent, and other IRC protocol data.
SeraphIRC does not control IRC servers, IRC networks, IRC bouncers, proxies, relays, or services such as NickServ, ChanServ, or other third-party infrastructure. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, software, and configurations.
Bouncers and Self-Hosted Services
If you use SeraphIRC with an IRC bouncer, relay, proxy, or self-hosted service, your messages and connection details may pass through that service. SeraphIRC does not control third-party or self-hosted bouncers, relays, proxies, or servers. You are responsible for choosing and configuring any servers or services you connect to.
Push Notifications
If SeraphIRC supports push notifications, notification delivery may involve Apple Push Notification service and, depending on your configuration, an IRC bouncer, relay, or notification service. Notification content and metadata may be processed by those services as necessary to deliver notifications.
SeraphIRC does not use push notifications for advertising or tracking.
Security
SeraphIRC is designed to store configuration data locally on your device where possible. You should use trusted IRC servers, secure connections when available, and strong passwords for IRC services or bouncers.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and SeraphIRC cannot guarantee the security of third-party IRC networks, servers, bouncers, relays, or notification services.
Children’s Privacy
SeraphIRC is not directed to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data Deletion
Because SeraphIRC does not maintain a developer-operated account system or collect personal information on developer-operated servers, there is no SeraphIRC account data to request or delete from the developer.
You can delete locally stored app data by using in-app deletion features, removing configured networks or history, or deleting the app from your device. Data held by IRC servers, IRC networks, bouncers, relays, proxies, or other third-party services must be managed through those services.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted at the same location where this policy is made available. The effective date above will be updated when changes are made.
